Bring On The Brisk Cold Weather
If you read this post today and you’re a woman in your mid to late forties or early fifties, you’re most likely as happy as I am that the Fall Season is here. At almost forty-nine years young and going through peri-menopause since I am thirty-five, the brisk cold weather is my best friend. Bring on the colder evenings! I’ll do anything to get rid of these hot flashes at night- Dear God!
ALL THINGS PUMPKIN!
From my past posts, you know that I am quite smitten with the veggies of this glorious season! One veggie that I always look forward to having is pumpkin! I love ALL THINGS PUMPKIN!
My Two Favorite Markets
As you know, I have quite an addiction to Thrive Market and Whole Foods. Today I am sharing two markets and the best pumpkin finds. The foods I found are on the clean and healthy side. These picks are foods I buy for our house and for Sasha. Some of the foods you’ll see below have more ingredients than I care to see on a food package. Those items are either a treat or something we decided to try to figure out how to make it at home from scratch with real ingredients and less of them.
Let’s Begin With My Whole Foods Picks

- Pumpkin Pie Granola : Does NOT matter if it’s ninety degrees and sunny or twenty degrees with a foot of snow outside, this granola is a FAVORITE and has been for years. It’s PALEO so there are no grains. I love this over non-dairy yogurt or just as it is in a small bowl with one serving along with my peppermint tea. That is another post for another day!
2. Abe’s Pumpkin Muffins : A company started by two brothers who had all sorts of food allergies, they created a whole line of vegan allergy free muffins. Sasha loves the blueberry muffins. They are mini size and great to bring to school as a snack! The pumpkin muffins are sure to be a hit in your house if you love pumpkin like us!
3. Pumpkin Spice RX Protein bars : Two best friends, broke yet not afraid to take risks, they created a protein bar that consists of 3 egg whites, 2 dates, and 6 almonds and with “NO B.S” which stands for BULLSHIT. The Pumpkin Spice Bar is made with fall flavors; pumpkin, cinnamon, cloves and a few other simple ingredients – egg whites for protein, dates to bind and nuts for texture. No tricks. Just treats. :O)
4. Nature’s Path Gluten-Free Pumpkin Spice Waffles : I used to have a waffle maker. I totally confess to buying a great one, and only used it three or four times. I gave it to my cleaning lady! I’m the worst! Hey at least it wasn’t tossed in the trash! I have no patience for making waffles. These are a great choice Sasha! Made with water, pumpkin puree, brown rice flour, flax seeds, pear juice concentrate, quinoa, amaranth, and natural flavor, sea salt. Organic. Contains soy.
Now let’s dive into my Thrive Market Finds

Organic Granola, Pumpkin Punch : Here’s another grain-free granola. This one has sprouted figs in it! FIGS! I love figs! Shouldn’t you always have two bags of pumpkin granola in your house?
Organic Pumpkin Spice Coffee : Pumpkin Spice coffee without all of the syrups, sugars and junk! Forget Starbucks! Make your own at home. This coffee is made from arabica beans and has little notes of cinnamon, clove and nutmeg! I’m going to post about my favorite coffees and how to make lattes. Stay tuned for that post.
Pumpkin Honey Glycolic Mask : I have been using this mask for about five years now. Every fall, I pull out this bright orange mask, and have some alone time in the bathroom. While I prep for my shower, I wash my face in the sink and apply this mask. As I am in the shower, the steam sets the mask into my skin even more. You will feel a slight tingle and you’ll see your skin is a little pinkish red right after. Once I get out of the shower, I lather on my “Fucking Beautiful” Rose oil. Yes, that’s the name of the rose oil. And yes, while you’re at it, you SHOULD spoil yourself and purchase this oil. You won’t find anything better. Swear!
Ultra Hydrating Shampoo with Argan + pumpkin : For hydrated locks, especially after swimming in the chlorine filled pools and soaking up the sun, you may want to grab a bottle of ACURE’s Ultra Hydrating Shampoo. Infused with argan and pumpkin seed oils, this shampoo brings added moisture to dry, damaged, or curly hair. The formula is free from parabens, sulfates, petrolatum, or silicone.
Fall Nostalgic Scents
While we are shopping for all yummy foods and products that contain our beloved pumpkin, why not share with you some of my favorite fall scents. When I don’t have time to go to Home Goods, You can find me searching for the best stuff on Amazon Prime.
You’ve GOT to check out the Sweet Water Decor Company on Amazon. They are an inspirational and motivational brand. I believe they are run by a husband and wife team, where the husband runs the warehouse and the wife is the creator. The products are all gluten phthalate and lead-free. The candles are all hand-poured in Pittsburgh, PA.
They offer more than candles. You can find gorgeous notebooks, little glass jars with the cork topper filed with pretty matches to match the beautiful candles. Now, as I write this, it’s sparked some ideas for gifts for birthdays and upcoming holidays!

Check out the ones I’m obsessed with for the FALL SEASON.
I hope I’ve inspired you to enjoy all things pumpkin!
