I’m a big fan of full-body strength workouts. There is nothing better than leaving the gym feeling WORKED- all over! As a busy mom, trainer, wife who cooks every night for the family, and business partner, you better believe that total body workouts are just what someone like me needs! Gone are the days when I could walk into the gym and just focus on one or two body parts. Nope. No time for that!
My Workouts
My full body strength workouts are great for people who want cardio, resistance training, and strength! When you do these workouts and glance over at the cardio bunnies on the elliptical bouncing and going nowhere, you’ll thank me for these sorts of workouts. Working hard moving from one body part to the next, you will get your heart rate up. If you’ve neem following me for some time now, you have seen workouts I have posted like this one or this one.
What Are Your Goals
Before I take on new clients, I always ask what their goals are. Typically, these are the goals I hear. I want to lose weight, lose belly fat, and get toned. The first thing I suggest is resistance training. The second thing I suggest is 6-8 hours of sleep. The third thing I suggest is being mindful of what they are eating. LASTLY, I tell them that cardio is considered the icing on the cake, no pun intended. Cardio is never the main focus of my workouts… like ever. Then I explain that you can’t TONE a muscle. You can either grow it or shrink it. To look defined and lean, you must lose body fat and strengthen those muscles.
All of your Bodyparts are Important
All of your body parts are important and should NOT be left out. If your goal is to get a stronger back, You can find online workouts that will have you focusing only on back workouts. Want to lose your jiggly triceps? They have online programs that will have you only do those workouts geared to work your triceps. You catch my drift. You can’t focus on only one or two muscle groups. The last thing you want to do is create muscle imbalances in your body.
You Never Know
I can tell you now, You may plan the perfect week of working out, but you never know what can happen. A sick kid, care broke down; Stove guy has to come, You hear me. We all have stuff that goes on or interrupts our plans. It’s life. Doing full body strength workouts are a great way to hit every body part and achieve a well-balanced, well-built physique. If I can get three to four full body workouts for the week, I’m mentally good. Whatever else I do during the week is considered a bonus!
