In this Friday Favorites post, I’m going to share some new ones! If you read my last post on my favorites, you know I love the TSC Podcast. Listening to these Podcasts, I have discovered so many incredible people out there who have created so many amazing products.
Drunk Elephant
On a more recent Podcast from TSC, I listened to an interview with Tiffany Masterson, who is the founder of the skincare line Drunk Elephant. The name alone sparked my interest. The name Drunk Elephant is rooted in a myth that says the elephants love to eat the fruit that has fallen from Marula trees. Once eaten, fermentation occurs inside their very large tummies and the elephants become drunk! Virgin Marula oil, straight from the “pip”, can be found throughout the Drunk Elephant line. It is an oil that Masterson believes is superior to ANY she’s tried due to the high content of fatty acids and antioxidants. Within three minutes of her story, I became intrigued about her line of skincare.
I think as soon as I pulled into work, I went upstairs and immediately ordered this serum. At my age, going through menopause and living on the East Coast, my skin is on the dry side. Moisturizers do not work for my skin. My skin LOVES serums, however, they have to be pure and not have any fragrance in them or other added ingredients.
When I finally received it in the mail, I couldn’t wait to shower and feed my skin with this serum. I was a little hesitant I must tell you because normally the next day, I wake with a new friend on my face- a juicy ZIT! I am happy to report that going into my third week of using Drunk Elephant face oil, I am zit free and have glowing skin!
Hand In Hand
Okay, so I am guilty of being suckered into grabbing a new product off the shelf simply because of the color or labeling on the product. I’d say for about a month or so, every time I’d go to Whole Foods and stroll the isles, I would get pulled in by this brand. Hand in Hand is a non-toxic body wash, scrub and lotion company.
I love that for every body wash you purchase, they will donate one bar of soap + one month of clean water to a child in need. Oh, and they don’t use palm oil because it’s the absolute worst for the environment. Pretty cool, huh? A clean + conscience company!
What I REALLY love is the scent. I chose the cactus blossom scent which is Bergamot and eucalyptus. Together these two scents with a little orange essential oil are insane together! I love woodsy smells as well as herbal smells. I can NOT do the fruity smells. The sugar scrub is awesome, and feels so good while leaving a nice hint of orange essential oil on your skin.
