Hey Goddesses! Today I am sharing a recipe that I just sent one of my friends. In a text, she asked me if I had a pumpkin pie shake for mornings (breakfast). Do I ever!?! With Pumpkin Season in FULL swing, I have been enjoying lots of pumpkin recipes, and squash of all kinds. My Pumpkin Protein Smoothie is delicious, filling, and has the right amount of carbs, protein, fats, and calories!

A few Tips on smoothies:
THE GOOD
- Know that they are versatile, meaning you can always add to them. I always create these recipes for myself or clients based on my fitness goals or the goals of my clients. If fat loss is a goal, obviously, the fewer ingredients, the better, if a client has goals for building muscle, I may add some more nutrients, especially if it’s for a male. If your husband or guy friend loves smoothies also, I always recommend making two separate smoothies.
- Smoothies are a great way to get in your daily amount of veggies and fruits. Most people, myself included having such busy lives we are lucky we can get enough meals throughout the day! The more vitamins and minerals you take in every day through real whole food, the less inflammation you will have, the better you can recover from intense workouts and any other stress you put on your body.
- The best part of smoothies is that you can mix any greens pretty much with any fruit, and presto, there is another dose of antioxidants and vitamins going in your body. You can check one meal off your list.
- Smoothies can be more satiating than your current breakfast. I always feel so full after I suck down a smoothie.
- If made with the right serving amounts, smoothies can help with weight loss.

THE NOT SO GOOD
If you ever surf the web, I am sure you have found millions of smoothie recipes. There is a smoothie for every ingredient you can think of! Here is the thing. If you are looking to lose body fat and have a defined tight body (especially at my age-48 and a woman), Your smoothie ingredient list would be short. You can’t have a smoothie with ingredients like two whole bananas, half an avocado, almond butter, protein powder, spinach, almond milk, and cacao powder. That will NOT help you lose body fat. If you were to add up all of those calories, you would be shocked by the number of carbs and fat. Just because it’s all good for you doesn’t mean you should have it all in one meal. Sometimes I come across these recipes and start adding up the nutrients and calories, and immediately, I think to myself, “What on earth?” I would be a blob if I ate like that. Make sure when copying recipes from the internet, or some influencer, BE CAREFUL and always BE MINDFUL of the ingredients. They may NOT work for you.
