Be a Monday, Rebel!
How bad do you want to stay in bed when that alarm goes off on Monday morning? Are you the type who loathes Mondays? Do you wish you didn’t have to go to work? I want you to be like me, be a Monday Rebel!
Monday Memes Are So Funny!
I laugh at all of the memes I read about Mondays and how they suck or how people wish Monday weren’t here so soon. Some of the ones I read on Instagram posts from other pages crack me up.
Let’s Be Honest
I have to be honest. I have never been one of those people. For whatever reason, I’ve always loved Mondays. I view Mondays as great start over days, new beginning days, or continuing your passion days. Perhaps I am just a rebel when it comes to starting my week in a positive frame of mind. I feel that if you wake up on Monday morning dreading your day, well, then it’s already starting in a negative vibe. How and what you think as soon as you wake up will set the tone for your day.
My Day SO Far.
My Monday has been great so far. When things go smoothly, and everyone is happy (Sasha, Daddy, and Mama), that is a great start. Sasha and I have our quiet breakfast together until the food reaches her belly, and her brain is awake. At that time, I have to be ready for her chatty conversations where she doesn’t take a breath for a second. I love her so much, but my oh my, she can talk!
After I drop Sasha to school, I listen to a podcast on my way home, as I have mentioned before. Today I heard Pardon My French. Ingrid spoke about the thyroid and why you may have a sluggish metabolism because of it. A great listen and very informative, should you want to download a new podcast.
Once I got home, I was welcome with ten bags from Prime Now, which is Amazon. I’m not into Bio-Hacking of any kind, but I am into living my life easier. Call it what you will, but having any help with the things I’m not crazy about doing is a hack of some sort! Now, if Amazon could have these amazing people come inside and put my groceries away, THAT would be the BEST HACK EVER! Anyway, I put the groceries away, grabbed my water, and went down into my workout lab.
TODAY IS LEG + INTERVAL RUN DAY!
If you’re following my workouts and runs, you will be pleasantly surprised with this run. I know I was! No running inclines today, yahoo! Nice flat runs, with recovery walks. You will love it! I ended up doing two and a half miles, which took thirty minutes. Not bad considering every other minute you walk. I broke a sweat, felt alive, and was then ready for my fantastic leg and back workout.

LEGS + BACK WORKOUT
The leg workout I created for today was great. All you need is a barbell, a Broom, a dumbbell or water jug, and two types of resistance bands: one is the loop “Booty Band,” and the other is a resistance band with handles. You’ll even use the booty band for one of the back exercises in the video.
In each round you will complete all three moves, then take a sixty second break. You should aim for 12-15 reps for each move.
Round One: You’ll need a barbell, booty band, and dumbbell
- Barbell deadlift into a front barbell squat
- squat with a rear kick (band on ankles)
- dumbbell pullovers- you can use a bench, stability ball, or the ground
Round Two: you’ll need one dumbbell + your bootyband
- Static wide-leg dumbbell switch lunge
- Glute raise with bootyband
- 1 arm rows-with bootyband
Round Three: you will need a dumbbell or weighted ball, your band with handle grips + your booty band
- Reverse lunges
- Fire hydrants and donkey kicks
- low band rows
Okay my friends, From now on, you’re going to be a rebel like me! A MONDAY REBEL! Let’s show those negative Nellies, we are POSITIVE AND PRODUCTIVE everyday, but especially on Mondays!
